Boys Hope Girls Hope Of New York

Boys Hope Girls Hope of New York (www.bhghny.org) is a residential scholarship program for academically capable and motivated children-in-need.  It provides a family-like structured home, quality parenting, and private school education to children in middle school and high school.  If you have a Bachelors degree in Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, Education or a related field, are at least 21 years of age, you have the criteria to be considered for a position as a residential counselor.  The position also requires a good driving record with the ability to do a live-in program. Competencies for success include creativity in presenting material and motivating Resident Scholars to pursue their education. The Residential Counselor 11 is responsible for the operations of a group residence with 6-8 adolescents. Duties include child care, tutoring, house hold management, record keeping, transporting the scholars in program vehicles, scheduling doctor and counseling appointments, maintaining contact with teachers and schools, and house hold tasks such as shopping cooking and cleaning.
